Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Lund Stem Cell Center

Diversity leads to better science. Different perspectives and approaches promote discussion, sparking the creativity needed to generate the discoveries of tomorrow.
At Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC), we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are vital for promoting scientific progress and forming the foundation of a flourishing and supportive academic research environment.
We recognize the importance of cultivating a welcoming, diverse, and integrative research environment and continually explore ways to improve our scientific community.
To drive positive change, we have established a dedicated Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. This committee is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that promote DEI principles and practices within our network. This includes creating educational activities and resources designed to increase awareness and understanding of DEI among our peers and provide an open forum for dialogue and the exploration of related topics.
Together, we strive to foster a culture built on collaboration, trust, and mutual respect, where every voice is heard and valued. We also remain committed to encouraging diversity in our recruitment and hiring practices and in sustaining a culture of belonging among our members and the wider scientific community.
Only in doing so, can we create a truly open, equitable, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all our staff, members, students, and partners.
