RAMP-UP: Regenerative Medicine and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products – United for PhD Excellence
RAMP-UP is driven by a strategic collaboration among four leading European universities and a wide network of industry, healthcare, and regulatory partners across the ATMP value chain. Together, these partners are dedicated to advancing regenerative medicine research and training the next generation of scientific leaders in the field.
Universities (Implementing Partners):
RAMP-UP is a joint doctoral program involving four leading European universities. Each university hosts PhD students and provides shared training through joint activities and academic supervision.
Associated Partners & Collaboration Network:
A Europe-wide network of more than 30 associated partners, including biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical firms, clinical research centers, healthcare institutions, and government agencies, represents the full ATMP value chain and contributes to training and supervision within the RAMP-UP doctoral programme.
These partnerships provide doctoral students with unique opportunities to gain:
- Hands-on technical training
- Intersectoral experience
- Exposure to international research environments
Each student’s doctoral studies are shaped by tailored secondments at our partner organisations and mentoring aligned with their research goals. This ensures that students graduate with a holistic view of the ATMP development and implementation process.
Funding:
RAMP-UP is funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions within the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation framework. RAMP-UP’s academic partners also provide a large commitment to the programme in the form of co-funding, demonstrating their dedication to making advanced therapies accessible and impactful for society.
