Who Can Apply?
RAMP-UP: Regenerative Medicine and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products – United for PhD Excellence
RAMP-UP is an EU-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND programme offering 55 fully funded PhD positions across four leading European universities and more than 30 international partners. The programme offers a unique and supportive environment for growth as a researcher and innovator in a variety of fields, including clinical translation, regulatory policy, biomanufacturing, and fundamental science.
Who Can Apply?
Mobility Requirement
Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply, but must comply with the Marie Skłodowska-Curie mobility rule:
- You cannot have lived or worked in the country of your future host institution for more than 12 months in the 36 months before the application deadline.
- Exceptions apply for:
- Mandatory national service
- Refugee status procedures under the Geneva Convention
Education
The programme is designed for doctoral students with diverse academic backgrounds who want to contribute to the future of regenerative medicine and advanced therapies and is open to applicants from a wide range of fields including:
- Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
- Engineering and Technology
- Law & Policy
- Health Economics
A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field is required by the start of the fellowship. Additionally:
- The diploma must be issued before the fellowship begins.
- Applicants must not already hold a PhD.
- Career breaks (e.g., parental leave, illness, military service) are considered for eligibility.
If your Master’s is still in progress, please include in your application:
- A recent transcript of records.
- A signed statement from your university confirming expected completion.

- Be complete and include all requested documents.
- Comply with the required format and templates.
- Candidate’s background must align with the selected research projects; adjustments may be suggested if needed.
