About Membership

Lund Stem Cell Center represents the Lund University node of StemTherapy, Sweden’s national Strategic Research Area (SRA) in stem cells and regenerative medicine. Through this integrated structure, the Center provides a platform for scientific exchange, training, infrastructure support, and community building in stem cell and regenerative medicine.

Membership in the environment is obtained by becoming a StemTherapy Principal Investigator. Once accepted, Principal Investigators and their research groups, automatically become members of the Lund Stem Cell Center.

Who can apply?

StemTherapy Principal Investigator membership is open to Principal Investigators whose research, leadership, and strategic engagement contribute to the goals of the Strategic Research Area, as outlined in the StemTherapy Strategic Plan 2026 – 2030 (PDF, 223 KB).

Applicants should:
•    Have significant research activities in Lund
•    Lead, or are in the process of establishing, an active research group
•    Demonstrate research independence and long term external funding potential
•    Align scientifically with the strategic goals of StemTherapy and Lund Stem Cell Center
•    Are prepared to engage actively in the Lund Stem Cell Center/StemTherapy community and strategic initiatives

How to apply?

Eligible Principal Investigators are invited to submit an application that outlines their research activities, group structure, funding, strategic alignment, and planned contributions to the environment.

Membership Renewal

StemTherapy Principal Investigator membership follows a three year cycle. During each cycle, PIs are invited to complete a reapplication form covering their research activities, group, funding, engagement, and planned contributions.

Please note that information submitted is used solely for evaluation and reporting and is accessible only to the designated reviewers and StemTherapy leadership.

Participation for researchers outside the Strategic Research Area

Lund Stem Cell Center aims to serve the wider stem cell and regenerative medicine community at Lund University.

Even if you are not part of a StemTherapy research group, you are warmly welcome to join many of our activities, including:
