Current topics in bioinformatics

Scope

The Research School in Stem Cell Biology and the StemTherapy Bioinformatics Core Facility have developed a new bioinformatics initiative in an effort to further improve the bioinformatics expertise of students and postdocs within the Stem Cell Center (SCC).

The purpose of this new initiative is two-fold: It will provide all SCC employees with clear instructions what resources for analysis, data interpretation and collaboration the Bioinformatics Core can provide; and it will also offer focused training sessions for PhD students and postdocs affiliated with SCC. During these focused workshops, trainees will learn about specific application areas with relevant examples in smaller focus/study groups. One purpose of these study groups is to encourage the establishment of local networks to maintain and pass-on the knowledge obtained during previous bioinformatics courses, thereby promoting an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment.
