R programming foundations I

Aim

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce the fundamentals of R programming and Rstudio. By the end of the workshop participants should be able to load data, navigate it, perform simple operations and write small functions.

Topics include

  • Flow control
  • Functions
  • Reading and writing tables
  • Standardising data
  • Basic plotting
  • Principles of clustering data and resampling methods for statistical testing

The detailed schedule will be distributed to accepted participants prior to the start of the workshop.

Entry requirements

  • Participants are expected to use their own computers with pre-installed R and R Studio (detailed instructions will be given upon acceptance).

This workshop is organised by the Research School in Stem Cell Biology in collaboration with the StemTherapy Bioinformatics Core Facility. Please be aware that the number of participants is limited. Participation in the workshop is free of charge for members of the Research School in Stem Cell Biology.
