Annual SCC Retreat

On the 5th – 6th September 2019, Lund Stem Cell Center’s (SCC) Annual Retreat was held at Ystad Saltsjöbad. Over 120 participants participated in attending lectures, poster sessions, team building and other social activities. Award ceremonies were also part of the program, including Article of the Year, whereby SCC PIs nominate articles published by young SCC researchers for external evaluation. This year, the prize of 50 000 SEK was awarded to Karolina Pircs (Johan Jakobsson group) for her article published in Cell Reports entitled “Huntingtin Aggregation Impairs Autophagy, Leading to Argonaute-2 Accumulation and Global MicroRNA Dysregulation”. Other highlights included keynote talks by Ben MacArthur (Southampton University) and Kim Jensen (BRIC) and also a panel discussion with editors from Cell and Nature Communications.
