About World Mental Health Day
Organized each year by the World Federation for Mental Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO), October 10 is globally recognised as World Mental Health Day. The day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma, and serves as a powerful reminder that there is no health without mental health.
This year’s theme, “Access to services – mental health in catastrophes and emergencies,” focuses on the urgent need to support the mental health and psychosocial needs of people affected by humanitarian emergencies.
