Symposium | Functional Assessment of Neuronal Circuitry: In the brain and in a dish
Mark your calendars and join us for a one-day symposium “Functional Assessment of Neuronal Circuitry: In the brain and in a dish.’
Warm welcome to the “Functional Assessment of Neuronal Circuitry: In the brain and in a dish’’ seminar that will take place on February 16, 2023 at Segerfalksalen, BMC A10. Join us for this one-day event which aims to highlight the importance of neurophysiology and bring some of the prominent members of European neuroscience to Lund.
The symposium, organised by the Electrophysiology Core Facility, in collaboration with Stem Therapy and MultiPark, will incorporate three lectures given by invited speakers. From an individual circuitry level to overall brain activity, invited speakers will present their views on brain function in health and disease, highlighting the use of advanced imaging and electrophysiology tools.
A workshop session will follow, where selected projects, presented by local group representative, will be discussed and practical advice on relevant electrophysiology and/or live imaging experiments and expected outcomes will be given by the invited speakers. Related to this, we encourage everyone from PhD student level and up, to submit an abstract (see below).
Local groups will also have an opportunity to individually interact with the guests in the morning before the lecture session, as well as during a coffee break between the two parts of the afternoon program.
Confirmed Speakers:
Dmitri A. Rusakov – Professor of Neuroscience, Wellcome Trust Principal Fellow, Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy, University College London, UK;
- "Monitoring Adaptive Plasticity of Central Synapses and Their Astroglial Environment"
Gilad Silberberg – Head of Silberberg Group, Professor at Department of Neuroscience, Karolinska Institute, Sweden;
- "Unravelling Sensory and Motor Neural Circuits in the Basal Ganglia"
Merab Kokaia – Head of Epilepsy Center, Professor at Neurology, Lund University, Sweden;
- "Combination of Whole Cell Recording with Optogenetics to Reveal Host-Graft Synaptic Interactions."
When: 16 February, 2023 | 14.00 - 17.00
Where: Segerfalksalen, BMC A10 | Lund University | Lund, Sweden
